Explore poetry in an accessible and supportive environment. This class is designed to help you discover your own poetic voice.

Please bring a pen and paper. We’ll begin with a few free-writing exercises. We’ll read and discuss a selection of poems centered around a particular theme or poetic form. You’ll then have the opportunity to write your own poem inspired by a prompt. We will conclude each class with an optional sharing session focused on positive feedback only.

Class meets on Tuesdays from 1:00–2:30 PM. The cost is $15. You are welcome to sign up for one or more workshops.

Classes are run by Lisa Lowry, a writer living in Northern Virginia. When she is not writing, she helps run the online community, Kids Comics Unite, a community for graphic novel creators.
